1 Four Oaks Drive,
A little bit about us
I’m George Michaela, and my son is Paul. Together, we are TruGreen Arden and we pride ourselves in being able to offer a bespoke service. Additional to owning TruGreen Arden, we also own and run TruGreen West Midlands.
I’ve spent nearly 30 years in the catering and hospitality industry and have worked all over the West Midlands. I left my previous business last year and started the search for my next move in 2017.
Late in 2017 I purchased TruGreen West Midlands and am proud to have built up a strong client base. When TruGreen Arden became available for sale early in 2019 I jumped at the chance to build on something we were excited to be a part of.
As a customer, I really value a personal service and with TruGreen that is what you get. All my lawn care plans will be bespoke to you and your lawns’ requirements and you’ll see or be able to speak to me regularly. That I can promise.
Both Paul and I work well together, so there was no doubt about it when we discussed going into business together.
The work rarely becomes repetitive because change is the only constant. The overriding challenge is our unreliable and unpredictable weather which demands a flexible attitude, be it in the hours or days worked and also in the products that we use and the services we provide. Add to this the availability of new and improved professional products which produce breathtaking results or legislative changes that are highly relevant to our activities in these environmentally-aware times and you begin to realise that the services of a professional lawncare provider are more than simply applying fertiliser.
As you would expect we are professional and friendly with all customers and aim to provide an effective, reliable, value-for-money service which exceeds expectations.
Unseasonal weather can occasionally delay results but you can always be assured of our perseverance. Each year over 80% of our new customers are from the recommendations of existing customers.
We have both been trained by the best and have our pesticide spraying qualifications in hand so we’re to ready to help you create a beautiful lawn that you can be proud of.
We both look forward to helping you soon.
Before and after.
Lawn Care Services in Solihull, Stratford-upon-Avon, Leamington Spa, Knowle & Dorridge
You don’t need to know whats wrong with your lawn, that’s our job! Before you commit to any of our lawn care services, we offer a FREE 14 Point Lawn Analysis to assess the condition of your lawn. We can then recommend the treatments most suitable for your lawns condition.
We offer the following lawn care services as part of our lawn care programme:
We use seasonal lawn fertilisation treatments to provide your lawn with the nutrients that it needs to grow and maintain throughout the year. Here at TruGreen Arden we fertilise your lawn at optimum times in the year, best suited to the grass plants life cycle. We use top quality products, administered professionally, so that you get the best results.
Our scarification treatment helps to remove the thatch (dead plant material) from your lawn so that it can breathe and receive the nutrients that it needs to live. We typically carry out this service at the beginning of the growing season (Spring/Late Autumn) so that the lawn can recover from this particularly vigorous treatment. We take great care in ensuring that we remove as little healthy grass plant as possible, so that the healthy parts of your lawn can continue to grow.
We recommend having your lawn aerated after a scarification treatment to facilitate root penetration as the ground beneath your lawn will be compacted. A compact lawn does not allow for nutrients, water and oxygen to penetrate the lawn, thus why we strongly recommend an aeration treatment to combat this. Aeration also helps water to drain from your lawn in to the soil, rather than collect and drown the grass plant.
Unfortunately, even the best kept lawns are susceptible to weeds. We help to remove them and keep them at bay by using herbicides to destroy the weed plant. It is worth noting that weed control is an ongoing process, and it may take several treatments before your weeds disappear. However, it is well worth persevering so that your lawn can be weed free and healthy.
You’ll typically find moss growth in lawns that have poor drainage. In order to eradicate moss, we need to eradicate the conditions in which it grows, followed by our professional moss control treatments. We do not use over the counter treatments, but specially designed moss control treatments that are only available to professionals such as TruGreen.
There are many different pests that can cause havoc in your lawn. We can identify the pest in question and provide a pest control treatment to ensure that they are eradicated and do not return. Lawn pests can be treated all year round, however the longer that you leave them, the more damage that they do to your lawn. It’s best to contact a lawn pest control specialist such as Trugreen, as soon as possible.
Lawn diseases, like pest infestations can be treated throughout the year. We strongly recommend that you prevent them as well as reacting to them. We typically use professional grade pesticides to rid your lawn of the most common lawn diseases such as Rust, Fairy Rings, Leaf Spot, Dollar Spot, Pink Snow Mould and the rest. You can easily identify these types of lawn diseases yourself, read more about them.
TruGreen Arden also offer:
Removal of old lawns
Preparation for seeding new lawns
Turfing entire lawns
Turfing small areas, eg: infilling flower beds

Chafer Grub Damage – Does your lawn look like this?
Blaming the birds? It’s probably not from what you think!
This lawn has been affected by Chafer Grubs. They feed on decaying plant matter and plant roots. There are many lawns affected by them in the Solihull, Stratford-upon-Avon, Leamington Spa, Knowle & Dorridge area.
- Patches of yellow/brown lawn
- Holes in your lawn
- Birds pecking at the lawn (to get to the grubs)
Sadly there is not an off the shelf chemical or even one that experts such as TruGreen Arden can get hold of that can be used to treat them, but rather a live bacteria that infects the grub and prevents it from doing any further damage.
This type of treatment is effective, but can only be carried out in certain conditions. Such as temperatures between 12-20ºC, and wet weather as the bacteria need to ‘swim’ through the lawn in order to do their work. This makes Chafer Grub difficult to treat, but not if you leave it to a TruGreen Lawn Technician such as TruGreen Arden.
We can come out to assess your lawn for FREE, provide a free no obligation quotation and if you choose to commit to our Chafer Grub treatment, we book a convenient date with you to carry it out as the bacteria are live and must be used within a very tight window.

Lawn Care Frequently Asked Questions
We have compiled a list of our most asked lawn care questions from over the last several years in the lawn care industry. However, if you have a question of your own that is not on the list, please give us the opportunity to answer it on 01564 791115 & 07888 996565!
Q. When can I mow my lawn after a treatment has been applied?
A. Ideally we suggest that lawns are not mowed for 3 days before and then 3 days after a treatment visit.
Q. Are the products that are used harmful to pets?
A. No. As we apply the products with care at the correct application rate there is no risk to pets. However we do suggest that they are kept off the lawn while the treatment is being applied and for at least an hour afterwards if possible.
Q. Do you use organic products?
A. We carry various organic fertilisers which some customers prefer. There are no organic products for treating weeds so chemical products are our only option. These are highly-regulated and tested products which we apply accurately and with care. However once a lawn is weed-free the few weeds that appear afterwards can be spot-sprayed or even removed by hand rather than the entire lawn area being treated.
Q. Can my children play on the lawn after treatment?
A. We ask that children, especially very young ones, be kept away from the lawn during treatment and for at least an hour afterwards. For customers with school-age children we endeavour to schedule lawn treatments in the morning so that by the mid-afternoon the lawns are perfectly fine to play on.
Q. What height do you suggest for mowing the lawn?
A. The great majority of lawns comprise a mixture of various grasses and include a large amount of dwarf ryegrass and we would inform you of your lawn type when we meet you. We recommend that these lawns are mowed at between 25mm and 30mm (an inch to an inch and a quarter) in order to encourage and achieve a healthy lawn. A fine grass lawn (which could be compared perhaps with a bowling green or putting green) can sustain being mowed shorter.
Q. Does the type of soil that we have in Warwickshire and the West Midlands have a bearing on how lawns are treated?
A. Most of the soil conditions in our area are clay and frequently heavy clay. Such soils retain moisture which have positive and negative effects. In dry periods the soil will retain moisture allowing the grass to stay green for longer than a free-draining soil but in wet periods it may become waterlogged. Aerating the lawn is important partly to help move water away from the surface, as well as allowing air, water and nutrients from fertilisers to penetrate the grass rootzone.
Q. Do I need to water my lawn?
A. Grass plants require water as do all plants. In periods of prolonged dry weather the lawn will require watering in order to stay healthy. We suggest watering after dark when evaporation is much less.
Q. Is there anything additional that can be done to enhance the lawn ahead of a garden party or special occasion where the lawn is on show?
A. If you have a regular lawn treatment programme and mow the lawn frequently (once a week) the lawn should be in good condition all of the time. However for a special occasion there is an additional treatment that can be applied a week or so before the event to enhance the colour to create that exceptional effect.
Q. Do you bring your own tools and equipment to treat my lawn?
A. Of course! We bring all of our own specialist products, tools and equipment to do a professional job on your lawn.
Q. Can I buy the products off the shelf that you use on my lawn?
A. No, the products that we use are for professional use only. We are fully trained and insured to use these types of specialist lawn care products.
