I am your local professional lawn care specialist in Buckingham and are part of the world’s largest lawn care company. I offer a range of services to help improve the condition of your lawn using a customised series of treatments. I pride myself on ensuring that I am able to offer my customers the most appropriate customised service for their lawn care in Buckingham. Take my 14-point lawn analysis for example. I’m happy to evaluate your lawn’s overall health and provide you with a detailed report with no obligation to you.
Now that we are in leaf falling season, make the most of any dry days and rake all leaves from the lawn surface. A thick layer of leaves will smother a lawn and will not only weaken the grass by starving it of light and air, it also provides the perfect conditions for the development of winter lawn diseases such as fusarium and snow mould, as the leaves form the perfect incubation layer for such damp related diseases to thrive. Leaves covered lawns also give the perfect conditions for moss to form, so if you want your grass to survive the winter, keep your lawn leaves free.
Aerating the lawn before the application of fertiliser will allow the nutrients to enter the soil profile more readily, reaching the grass roots which will give you the healthiest of lawns while reducing the chances of disease. If your lawn has not yet had any form of aeration this year, then I would strongly recommend that you do consider having it completed, as this most under rated of treatments is vitally important to the quality of your lawn.

Milton Keynes Garden Services Limited
86 Buckingham Road,
Having been born and bred in Milton Keynes, I have seen the town and surrounding villages grow into one of the UK’s most vibrant “City’s”. The famous concrete cows were a gift to the City of Milton Keynes by Canadian Artist Liz Leyh and the above sums up what the planners were trying to achieve and also my view on what life in Milton Keynes is all about… “a city in the forest”, with substantially more open green space than found in traditional cities.
While I am always making use of all the fab facilities MK has to offer, it’s the great outdoors, green spaces and gardening which really are my passion. Having worked for years in a commercial environment, frustratingly looking out of the window, I decided it was time to combine my passion with my drive and build a lawncare business.
With my roots in MK, I believe everybody should be able to enjoy the great outdoors and a lush, green lawn.
Give me a call, or send me an email, and arrange for me to come out and give you a FREE 14 point Lawn Analysis where I will work with you to put together a bespoke programme to transform your lawn.
Karen Burdett won ‘New Woman Franchisee Of The Year 2013‘ in the Encouraging Women into Franchising Awards.
An amazing achievement!!!
We understand that every lawn is different and that is why we provide a free 14 point lawn analysis to ensure that your lawn gets the best possible, bespoke lawn care in Buckingham package.
Our package includes:
Grass plants need on-going nutrition, and absorb their nutrients through their root system therefore a good soil rich in nutrients is essential for a healthy lawn. Fertilisation is a lawn treatment that provides, or supplements, the natural nutrients needed to become a healthy lawn. The fertilisers used are changed depending on the time of year to ensure the correct level of Nitrogen (N), Phosphate (P) and Pottasium (K) are maintained.
Weed Control and Moss control
Moss is something that every lawn will have to deal with at one time or another. Unless treated and removed, moss will continue to choke out the grass plants. There are various reasons for the build up of moss in a lawn, but very damp and shaded areas are at most risk. The recent wet winters have been perfect conditions for moss which should be treated in early Spring.
There are hundreds of different weeds which will need to be kept in check with a professional strength weed killer. Different weeds will require a different weed killer for the treatment to be effective.
There are a number of grass pests that are common in the UK. A grass pest is a creature that lives within the soil and feeds on the grass plant. Many grass pests feed on the root of the plant which causes a rapid deterioration in the condition of your lawn, causing large areas of discoloured grass and potentially a dead lawn. The most common/destructive ones are Leatherjackets and Chafer Grubs. Watch out for Crane Flies (Daddy Long Legs) landing on your lawns at the end of Summer/Autumn as this is when they lay their eggs. An insecticide should be applied as soon as possible to avoid damage to the lawn.
Fungus & disease control
The development of most diseases are usually dependent upon weather conditions, so recent weather conditions are to be considered during any diagnosis. Most diseases will have certain characteristics such as discolouration of the grasses, brown, dry patches or signs of fungi (mushroom type growth).
Modern living means that lawns become compacted very easily and benefit from aerating twice a year. Aeration involves piercing the lawn to allow water, oxygen, fertilisers and other nutrients to penetrate the soil more effectively and reach the grass roots. There are two main types of aeration that are a benefit to the lawn. Solid tine aeration, which aids the development of the grass plant, and hollow core aeration which facilitates the application of a top dressing and improves drainage.
Scarification is a mechanical operation which helps to remove all unwanted organic matter from around the base of the grass plant (thatch) and tidy up any straggly lateral growth from your lawn. The process will also remove moss that will otherwise choke the grass plant and restrict growth.
We have specialised equipment which plants the seed at the correct depth, enabling the seed to germinate quicker and more successfully. The correct seed will be chosen for your lawn to ensure good establishment of a robust lawn.
We also offer specialist growth regulator treatments so that you can mow your lawn less often!
